There is so many myths and beliefs about this Temple.This temple was built by rajaraja chola -II son of rajendarachola who built the gangaikonda cholapuram.This temple is the source of art and building culture(Civil).
It is the place where the hinduism and dravidaanculture mixed together. When i went to all the three temples of this family .
1. Lord Bragadeswara temple at tanjore Built by Raja Raja Cholan.
2. Lord Shiva Temple at Gangai Konda Chola Puram Built by Rajendra Cholan S/o Raja Raja Cholan
3. Lord Airvateswara Temple at Darasuram Built by Raja Raja Cholan S/o Rajendra Cholan.
We cant imagine that is it possible for us to built such a temple now a days with modern equipments and other Facilities. Being Indian in our life time we must visit all these three places atleast once and we need to protect the places as holy and ancient monument place.
Only after visiting these places i started photography and writing this blog. If possible please take your kids to see such a beautiful places where our culture and heritage live.
